dilemmas

Filed under: thoughts — steve @ 2:35 am

Good morning. Yesterday was a good Mother’s Day. Bright, sunny, warm, beautiful. Good day altogether.

You know, there are times in our lives when certain doubts or insecurities just disappear. For a while we may be pondering, agonizing even, over a certain issue, not knowing what to do. These dilemmas may be internal or external, personal or impersonal, long term or short term. I suppose this is nothing new to anybody, but I just wanted to comment that it is a great thing when a particularly troubling one is suddenly cleared up. You have that moment when you transcend the problem, and — poof! — the answer is there. “Yes, I can figure things out,” you say to yourself as you bask in the relief and the brief second when you have full mental clarity. I don’t know about you, but these times are far too infrequent for my liking.

Quote of the late night: Steve, you’re a sexy banana. (awww, shucks. Thanks, Fluger.)

an epic day

Filed under: general — steve @ 1:20 pm

Yet another beautiful rainy day. I like to call these days “epic” for some reason. Everytime I get a day like this and I look up into the sky, I can’t help but think something important is going to happen. I just got a piece of toothpick stuck in my throat. . .

Anyway, the school year is rapidly coming to a close. I’ve been getting some emails from friends who are telling me they are done for the year and are heading home. I still have a month to go. It can take as long as it wants to. I don’t have a whole lot of incentive to come home except to see my family and friends. I’m not looking forward to working all summer and being separated from Stacey.

Not much has been going on here. The biggest topic around is the housing situation. People have to find roomates or apartment-mates, rooms/apartments, etc. The whole deal. I’m all settled though. My roomate will be Fluger and we will be staying on 5th Hill. It will be fun; Fluger is a crazy guy. Sometimes he reminds me of Chris Farley.

Tip of the day: Air out your room every morning to keep the funk away.

ditched

Filed under: general — steve @ 7:30 pm

Today was an all-round sucky day. Even though it was a beautiful, warm spring day, it still sucked. My floormates ditched me today. They all knew I was going to a Mariners game with them. I even had two tickets. They didn’t let me know when they were leaving. They didn’t even try to let me know. This isn’t the first time that they’ve let me just fall on the wayside either. I know when I’m not wanted around. I’ve only gotten one half-hearted attempt at an apology which ended more like an excuse or passing-the-blame. Whatever.
